No Angels In This House

I think that almost every parent hears the words "Your child is so well behaved" from friends, neighbors, and babysitters. While they're praising your child, in the back of your mind you're thinking "you really don't know this child do you".

Lately Abigail has been throwing these temper tantrums when she can't get her way. She doesn't understand why we don't allow her to turn the tv on and off five million times a day, especially when we're trying to watch it. She doesn't understand why we wont allow her to throw blocks at us. Taking everything out of the closet seems natural to her but doesn't understand why this annoys us. Turning the dishwasher on is a great pass time for her which gets mommy going. She's usually pretty receptive but this past week she's been putting on a show for us. If we ignore her and walk away she'll get up, follow us, and continue the performance. It's pretty funny although it takes some patience especially when she does it in the store. (I usually tell her that the old ladies in the store aren't going to see her and are going to run her over so she better get up off the floor).

These are some great pictures to show her later down the road:

Notice her wearing Sarah's ankle socks.

Gotta love kids. Almost five more months until the terrible two's.

I love how they follow you from room to room and peek from between their fingers to makes sure you're watching. Good times. I wish I could say that the phase didn't last long, but Cameron is 2 1/2 now and still likes to show off his lung capacity! Have fun and take lots of pictures - it actually makes you feel better and often distracts them. Plus, think of the amunition you'll have when she turns 16 and wants to date some guy you don't approve of! ;)

Coming from someone who has never experienced such things...I hate to admit it, but reading your post made me giggle! Sometimes I feel like acting just like Abby when I don't get my way...too bad we can only get away with it when we're two, LOL!!

Woow im happy we are out of that! Id say pick a room where if she wants to throw a fit she has to stay there! But I guess she may be a little young for that?? I dunno! Good luck your in for some good times!

Can't get mad at her. though. She's cute even when she's mad. That scrumptious kid is so dang cute!!
I love the tricks that they think are sooo clever, though.
Don't worry, though. She won't out smart you until she's about three. Haha!!

I can honestly say that I can wait until Ada gets to this phase; she still wants to make us happy all the time and gets very upset when we get frustrated with some of the things she does. But it is so cute!

Funny to watch as a grandparent, frustrating as a parent. She's very frustrated and wants you to know it. Maybe saying to her "use your words" might help.

Coming from an Aunt and Uncle perspective, I want to pick her off the floor and give her whatever she wants... of course... ;)
